ABOUT YK-LIBRA

Yawan Kissan Library for Information & Broadcasting Resource Authority (YK-LIBRA) is a not-for-profit organization and also non-political Organization. It was established on 26th April, 1992 in Dhenkanal district of Odisha. After working for years, YK-LIBRA expanded its operation to all over Odisha and other states. The focused working areas concentrated on Preservation of Culture & Heritage, Social Security like Rehabilitation of old age people through old age home; Agriculture, Livestock, Fishery, Poultry, Climate Resilient Agriculture, Zero Budget Agriculture, Micro enterprise and Institutional Developments like SHGs, Farmers Clubs, Water User Groups (WUGs), Farmers Producer Organizations (FPOs), SHG Federation, and Sustainable Development of rural poor in India. Organization also provides Skill Development and employment opportunities focusing on socially deprived segments like ST/SC/Women, Setting of Library at village level for better dissemination of knowledge. Our focused thematic area are Livelihood & Advocacy; Entrepreneurship & Skill Building; Child Right, Women Empowerment & Leadership Development; Health & Education; Environment Conservation; Disaster Management; Governance & Institutional Building Services; Social Security & Social Awareness; Sports & Culture.

Vision

YK-LIBRA visualized a society with sustained livelihoods, socio-economically self-reliant and conscious about healthy environment, basic rights and human dignity.

Mission

To create 5 lakh sustainable livelihoods through community institutions along with value chain services in agriculture, Agri-allied and non-farm sectors with focusing on self-empowerment, eco-friendly cultural practices and safety health measures by the year 2027.
