With the support of Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA), Department of Revenue and Disaster Management; YK-LIBRA is implementing VDMP in 55 villages covering 39,600 population of Beguniapada block of Ganjam district. Disaster management program has been initiated to provide opportunities for the local community to evaluate their own situation based on their own experiences. The community people are empowered to prepare the Village Disaster Management Plan (VDMP) based on their own hazard, vulnerability, risk, resource and capacity analysis, containing village profile supported by maps, emergency response and disaster risk reduction plans, listing out activities and pin pointing responsibility of the VDMC.
